A well-fitting thimble allows you to stitch more accurately and for longer periods of time so that you can finish your projects faster and better.

Jan Marie Larson is a silversmith who creates sterling silver thimbles. Her amazingly comfortable tools will quickly become favorite family heirlooms, passing down through generations of creative stitchers like you! These treasured handmade thimbles come with a lifetime guarantee: Jan will repair and/or replace it for the life of the thimble… she will also trade you sizes and styles at any time. This is a great gift for a grandchild because she can come and choose a new size/style as often as she needs it for her growing fingers.

Each thimble is created using the lost wax process; meaning that every piece is first made out of wax. The wax is then burned out and replaced with molten silver to form a thimble that is unique — like you!

They are all 925-sterling silver and rarely allergenic. (925 parts out of 1000 are fine silver and the rest is a combination of copper and zinc).  There is no nickel in 925 sterling silver.

FINDING THE PERFECT THIMBLE

Many of us own them – thin, tin thimbles that are full of holes and ill-fitted, making it difficult to sew quickly. The typical fabric store sells small, medium and large plastic and stainless steel thimbles.” Most stitchers do not fit into these sizes and ladies with bulky or petite fingers cannot find a workable thimble anywhere!

How to know that your thimble FITS:

Your finger should seat firmly at the end of the thimble and be snug enough that it will not fall off. To find the perfectly fitted thimble requires a custom fitting. Jan carries over 300 sizes and styles of thimbles, so you can find your perfect thimble at the Thimbles For You booth.  Jan carries her hand tools to every show.  She will help you get the perfect fit and let you try out as many thimbles as needed at her booth.  This helps you find the most comfortable thimble for you.

Sewing hands are all unique and require unique fittings. A custom fitted thimble will ensure that you have a comfortable, beautiful thimble to help you finish your projects. Expert: Jan Larson will custom fit your thimble to your hand.  You can find her at Quilting and Sewing Shows throughout the USA.
